The Sweet Sound of Chainsaws

So there was the giant winter wind storm recently. I missed all the fun and exctiement of it being in Moscow. However I did get roped into helping clean up the mess. It was a popular time to clean up too, you couldn't walk outside without hearing chainsaws in all directions.

It didn't look like that much at first but it took 4 truck loads in Dad's truck (with the extenders on the sides so we could pack more in). Oh man, it was fun alright. Then Dad had to go and make the mess worse by cutting down 3 small trees to make room for the new Garage he is building for all of his stuff. We did however get this lovely christas tree from the tops of one of the ones he cut down. (I still liked my idea of using the fallen branches as a tree though)

Memories of Bunkbeds

Actually they aren't memories anymore. I'm home for Christmas break, and sleeping in the bunk beds. Over the summer I had taken the top bunk off so that I wouldn't have to hit my head every time I moved. However since mom has taken over my room with her scrapbooking (she told me she wants me to move out for good so she can completely take over the room) they moved the top bunk back in to give her an extra "shelf" for her stuff. So over thanksgiving break I hit my head many times in waking up and going to bed.

I WAS SMART THIS TIME WHEN I CAME HOME. I moved all of her stuff to the bottom bunk and put my mattress on the top! Now no more hitting my head! That is for Ruth to do when she is home and we have to share the room. Although the bunk beds will provide entertainment. Ruth has decided that we are going to make them into a fort like we use to when we shared the room as kids.

So this semester went really well at school. It was amazingly nice to be in studio classes where I could actually start designing things. I loved my interior design class and for my final project designed a residence/work studio for a tattoo artist. My favorite part about my final presentation of it was the name I came up with however, "The Ink Pad". I learned a lot in my Architecture class as well. The beginning projects in there went really slowly for me, I never did horribly on them, but I just couldn't think creatively. Then for our final project everything just seemed to snap into place. We had to design a coffee shop and an apartment to go on a lot together. My teacher, and the other ones really liked some of my ideas so that was amazing. When I talked to my prof. about my grade, he said that I have a really good imagination. He also asked me to leave my presentation boards around for him to take a few pictures of (he said there were 5 from the class that he wanted pictures of) in order to show future classes! I was soooo excited when I left that meeting with him, and getting such a good grade took my grade that little bit extra so I was able to get an A out of the course!

Now that I'm home, I'm really not motivated to do anything though, I was SO busy in those last few weeks of the semester with all the projects that I had to do (4 in all) that I never had any time for myself. So far today, my first full day of being home, I've gone shopping with mi madre (bad for the bank account of course, I only got one Christmas present while out too, and need to get so many more), I've made fudge, and I've sat around and played my brother's old playstation for far too long! I think it is time to start reading the new book I bought today, Eragon, the movie is out, but I wanted to read the book first.
